Again Fiddler you really dont know what youre talking about.

When theres a show and theres a touring band involved, if the touring band shows up, they play. I have never cancelled a show on a touring band before ever. Also The Deadly Snakes and their touring partners as well as the local openers provided over 2 and a half hours of entertainment whereas the 2 local bands who were there last night likely only had under an hour of material between the 2 of them. Another is that the Deadly Snakes crowd was 19+ and there was actually about 25 people there for that one at $7.00 a head, all of which plus the bands were drinking which in turn made it make sense for the bar to be cool with having the show because there were drinkers but last night was almost all minors.

In the past couple of months no show has done as good as it should have, the bar has lost money, promoters have been losing money and were at the point now where putting 2 local bands on the stage for 20 mins each to play for 10 people isnt worth the bar and promoter paying out security, staff, sound and more because whether 1 band plays or 5 bands play the expenses are almost the same either way theres money being lost.

I have NEVER ever had to cancel a show on the day of a show, it was a shitty feeling to have to send the bands home and an even shittier feeling to send paying customers away. But even if we had done the show for 2 locals I couldnt charge full cover so $3.00 a head for the probably 20 people tops that wouldve shown up in the hour we had bands onstage is only $60.00 and that only means an hour or so for the bar to sel beer and drinks to the maybe 3 people 19+ that wouldve been there last night.

Im very sorry you didnt get to see a show but youre not the only regular customer that didnt get to see a show last night. Many apologies. See you on August 20th for Ripcordz Fiddler.

I feel that I have to throw my two cents in.  This show was more of an inconvienience than other shows that did not end up happening because this show was completley cancled instead of having local bnads play, also I booked that day off work to check the show out a month or so in advance.  That means I missed out on making a full days pay for nothing also the walk down wasn't even worth it.  Even though Tyler you're right I could use the exercise.  I"m not mad at all to anyone who put this show on I"m just pissed about the bands not showing up.

It would have been different if they had at least called. I was only going for Dwimorberg and to check out Cryptic Torture anyway...

i dunno why everyone was upset about the show not happening. sure no one that showed up got to play, but they will at another show. also, jammin isn't for no reason. everyone's just that much better for when they all get to play next. The out of town bands are jerks for not contacting anyone at all for @ least being late. Irreguardless, it totally would've not made sense to put on the show for the locals when the bar looses money from it. Anyways...

Everyone understands why it happend (or didn't happen) and i just hope that Kilroy's isn't gonna be the spot for shows anymore. look at GFK's audience recently. such a HUGE dissappointment b/c no one was there, and the room just felt empty. imo, the Apollo was THE BEST place for shows. Warp 9 is too big for the smaller shows, and even the same with Kilroy's (i do like Kilroy's better then Warp tho, i dunno why, lol). I'm just hoping we can get another place like the apollo for shows again.

p.s. miller, if u were upset about missing a couple hrs of pay, then u should work O/T. just a suggestion.

Can't work OT got school thanks for the suggestion.  It's not the fact that I missed a day of pay more than the fact that I did for no reason but, whath appens happens every show can't be a go.

Ok, I understand the place might have lost money, keyword "might". Most of the people who came to the show would have stopped to see the band's, us, play. Some even came just to see us, and some had no idea the bands weren't gonna come. So at least more then 50, maybe not much, but more then 50 would have been there. I understand though and the bar didn't take that risk. hypnoticRayne, I didn't see you getting your band ready jamming for this show? Just saying, don't take it as an attack, for it is not, just  be careful about your choice of words, you probably think we can get a show like nothing, for a Black Metal band, like mine there aren't many shows we can actually get onto. Think now, when was the last show you have seen that Black Metal band has played? Death metal bands here in town even have trouble getting shows as it is, so do not say "you'll get to play at another show" it only makes me angry. Lastly, I would like to say we jammed extremely hard for as many times as we could, my bassist had exams the week before the show, I had school and was doing poorly, and my drummer was busy also with work, and being out of town the week before the show, that's all I will say, the way things are we probably won't get another show. As for Real Black Metal in this community I have since come to the realisation that it was never really here. The few of us who listen to it and play don't really make an impact. The ONLY reason I want to play a show is for some of the Death Metal folks, and the other few who enjoy Black Metal and understand, feel and appreciate it's true extreme value, I know I can't be picky which is another reason why it is very hard to make an impact.
I am almost ready to just throw out the possibility of playing live and perhaps this truly unique experience will only be felt by the very few and lost to most people in this community. Just to add to this I would like to add that Black metal to me is very personal and is really a part of my life, and it's not some overhyped fake act of circus clowns, i am not an actor! I hope that I can play more in the future for those few who would enjoy it. We Shall See.

Unholy Blessings

Between the 10-12 people outside and according to the staff probably another 10 or so that came in looking to see the show after itd been cancelled that still doesnt make 50 by my count.

Some shows bomb, this show bombed, its in the past lets leave it be.

Ok, I don't care about it anymore that is past anyway.

But in reality we don't know if there would be 50 or 20 people going. A lot of people who were going to go were notified it was cancelled, by I or the other band members of other bands. It is past anyway so who cares anymore. Just wanted to clarify what I tried to say.
