Jane’s Party is an exceptional group of musicians hailing from Toronto made up of (soon-to-be) graduates from York University Jeff Giles, Zach Sutton, Devon Richardson and Tom Ionescu. Adding layers of blues, reggae and just the right amount of pop, Jane’s Party is a vibrant and refreshing approach to Canadian roots music.
Jane’s Party, naming themselves after the street they live on and the atmosphere they create at their lives shows, came together in January 2008. Eager with determination and enthusiasm, the group hit the road that summer for their first ever, self-booked Eastern Canada tour that took them from Toronto straight through to Newfoundland. When not playing amplified venues, Jane’s Party would take to the streets busking, looking for any opportunity to get their music heard. This non-stop hustle led to their debut recording, The Garage Sessions.
Jane’s Party have an undeniable chemistry and they command every stage they perform on. Their on-stage charm and infectious harmonies has resulted in a dedicated and ever growing fan base.
Written, recorded and produced by Jane’s Party in their garage, this is, without a doubt, anything but a “garage album.” A collection of ten songs ranging from folk-pop to rustic Americana, The Garage Sessions is just a taste of things to come.
