LU Radio hosts a Radio-A-Thon for its Fifth Birthday! - March 27 & 28

On March, the 27th and 28th, LU Radio will be having an old fashioned Radio-A-Thon. The event will take place on Saturday and Sunday from 9am-9pm and will feature live musical and non-musical guests. Donations will be taken by phone & paypal and there will be prizes for people who donate to the station. All proceeds from the events will go towards some energy saving renovations to the LU Radio House as well as towards hiring another full time staff member.

A MESSAGE FROM LU RADIO:

As you may have read, LU Radio is hosting a Radio-A-Thon to help raise money for the station this weekend. One of the ways we’re doing that is asking for donations and giving away ‘prizes’ to people who donate above set limits. LU Radio would like to compile a package (or 2 or 3) of local band merch to add to the prizes of our Radio-A-Thon. During the Radio-A-Thon we will be talking about all the prizes we have as well as the people who donated (i.e. lots of info could be given out about the bands that donated) and we’ll also be posting a list of the prizes and dollar amounts on our website.  So it will be good radio and word of mouth for the bands. Since LU Radio is here to help promote local music, we’d like to put the call out to all local bands/musicians, current and defunct, to drop off, or arrange for pick up, of any merch that they might feel like donating. T-Shirts, hats, stickers, CD’s, whatever they have that the are interested in adding to the prize packs is greatly appreciated. Even if some of the bands only have home-made ‘burned’ discs, we’d be interested in that as well, some of it may be great ‘collector’ items for people if music isn’t available any other way.
