Mass Undergoe is like if you took everything ever written that was beautiful and aggressive, and made a delicious extract that can erase signs of aging and make angels cry pearlescent tears. Some restrictions apply. Do not attempt. Mass Undergoe IS a syrupy concentrate derived of many juicy influences - and is NEVER watered down. (*cue tumbleweed*) Maybe just the jokes? We have many bands, artists, friends, and family that have inspired us (a list that is forever growing, really) - and to each one of us personally- we are trying to make our heroes proud. We have been called Hard Rock, Pop Rock, Metal, Modern Rock, Indie and a score of others (and that is wicked) but Mass undergoe aims to be diverse and unapologetic for loving all types of music, heavy or not. Mass Undergoe kicks the notion of GENRES and SCENES in their smarmy faces and down a stairwell and instead attempts to unite all lovers of MUSIC to join us in a FRENZY of ROCKING. I mean seriously. Let's all get in one room, and dance. And scream. Jump. And sing. Mass Undergoe met in high school, had some lineup changes, (you know...) released "Emotion Has A Thousand Sons" in 2001, recieved a Videofact Grant for the lead single "Lost Vacancy," and recieved medium rotation (Much Music, Much Loud, and Fuse) for months on the strength of touring and requests alone. George Strombolopoulous also helped. Thanks George. They also played two indie showcases for 102.1 The Edge (a throbbing bulbous wand of rock radio POWER) that was heavily enough attended, they worried about problems with the police. An accoustic EP was released in 2003 that featured renowned Canadian guitarist/composer Gaye Delorme as a guest performer on the single " I Need You." This spawned another successful cross-canada tour, and by 'successful' we mean: cold, isolated, and with only our most primordial senses of survival to get us from one location to the next. Many people attended though, so that was great. That brings us to now. More or less. Brandon Lazenby on Drums, Marino Mestrovic on Bass, Alan Calimbas on Guitar, and David Isbister on Vocals comprise Mass Undergoe today. We have new music, two new EPs, and have been playing steadily, most recently with Ill Scarlett, Gob, Ninjaspy, Incura, and Bullets Over Beauty. We also recenty completed a cross-Canada tour in support of our new EP. We are about to begin pre-production on a final set of songs for a follow up record, release date to be announced. We have cemented our writing process and are able to churn out formulaic, mindless tunes with reckless abandon. Oh, and by "formulaic and mindless," we mean dynamic and thoughtful. See? I suppose a record company would be appreciated at this point. This is our soul and we WANT IT MORE THAN WE WANT OXYGEN. Mass Undergoe believes in music, art, YOUTH, humour (some of it highly inapropriate), and change. Mass Undergoe is a god damn juggernaut of dedication to keeping up with new friends. We are touring your way right now, perhaps - or if not, planning how we might get there.
