No can do my friend, were breaking in a new guitarist and all of us have been crazy busy. There's a few bands looking to take our spot but the first one that contacts Frank and suits the show Im sure will get the slot.

One thing is forsure, this will be the best metal show to hit Thunder Bay in a long time. There's been a serious lack of death metal coming through town which sucks because I can remember a few years there when we used to get a good metal show per month.

Anyways, any metal fan that isnt at this show is a failure as a metal fan.

Ok everyone listen up....

Seriously, this town hasnt had a metal show like this in a LONG time. In fact, I honestly cant even remember the last metal show of this calibur that came through town (please dont say high on fire because its not even in the same ball park).

This is 3 amazing bands representing the BIG 3 in the metal world. Nuclear Blast, Century Media and Metal Blade.

So, tonight, metal takes over Jacks, Frank went to a lot of trouble to make sure this show had a home for the night so metalheads.... get off your asses, come out, grab a few drinks and support some amazing bands.

I hope this show will bring out the masses, if not, a lot of people are going to miss an amazing show.

I dont know what you consider a long time ago but that show was April 16th 2009 which in my opinion is a long ass time ago. I was more so thinking of Shadows Fall / Goatwhore back in March of this year which is also a pretty long time ago being that a ways back this town used to be host to a solid metal show every couple months.

Point being is that there's about 20% or less of the metal shows coming through these days so when a show like Aborted / Augury / System Divide comes through, you would think the metal support would be there.

In any event, if you are 19+ and you are into metal, come out to Jacks tonight. There's a lot of people that deem stuff like White Chapel and Suicide Silence "metalcore" which isnt correct, those bands are death metal and if those bands are your thing, be at Jacks tonight

Breaking a string on your guitar halfway through the set (all new strings, nonetheless), having the fun of a floyd rose that knocks the guitar totally out of tune, not having a backup for the first time in 5 years, being a lefty and not being able to play anyone else's guitar, and having to run to the jamspace and bak within about 45 seconds to finish off the set makes for a solid way to start the show.

First off, Jagstog rocked pretty hard apart from their technical... i mean Kevin's technical difficulties.

System Divide was pretty awesome. That singer had a beautiful voice and well.. a beautiful everything else as well. Liked the blend of genres a lot.

Aborted was AMAZING on all accounts to say the least. I found it weird that they shared so many members with System Divide, sort of reminded me of a faceless / rock truck back to back or something. Regardless, they were brilliant and completely made my night.

Augury is a sick talented bunch of dudes but going on after Aborted wasnt the best plan since the crowd seemed a lot smaller and less pumped.

All that being said I want to say that I was pretty bummed out at the turnout. It was a ghost town for most of the show, people filed in later on but it wasnt what it really should have been. I know it was a Tuesday but it was Aborted and other great bands for only 10 bucks.

The metal scene just aint what it used to be thats forsure. However I was happy to hang out with the folks that showed up. We all enjoyed a killer show.

How was the sound guy bad?

For the size of the room and the system he was working with, it sounded pretty good.

The system kept cutting out due to overloading, not the sound guys fault.

Systems Divide were horrible, i left after 2 songs. the chick singer completly ruined that band for me. i think the speaker on the right blew out or something, not really sure. either way Augury and Aborted were fucking amazing.
