Entropy

Kilroy s
Aug 26
$TBA

Locals
TBA

The Next Level Management (Edmonton/Toronto) will be in Thunder Bay for the week of Aug. 20th with one of their up and coming roster acts The Entropy.

The Entropy and TNLM will be in rehearsals during the week for their upcoming Canadian tour, and have selected The Kilroy's stage to set their tour.

The final result will be unveiled at the show on Thursday, Aug. 26.

TNLM has worked with some of Canada's top indie bands.

If any Thunder Bay bands were interested in the opportunity to pick up with a management company and touring, then please do send me a request to jump on this bill. Paul from TLNC is always looking for quality acts to add to his roster and has expressed an interest in seeing what Thunder Bay has to offer. Here is an opportunity to get an audition in your own back yard with a management company. If your band isn't interested in an audition, then that's fine to.

About The Entropy

The music is passionate; it's drive is heavy. It's been described as lyrically poignant, as metal inspired alternative, and sometimes just plain honest rock.

Hailing from Toronto Ontario, brothers Josh and Luke Hutchinson, Grant Boyer, and Jason Yuricek of The Entropy are continuing to make a serious impact on the Canadian Alt/Rock scene.

Their first EP "Self Titled" was released in 2005, which led to a full length release written, recorded and co-produced by the band one year later. "An Arcane State" was released in 2006, and went on to sell 3000 copies off the stage alone. The leadoff single "Nothin New" garnered radio play locally, as well as on the Ontario college circuit. In support of "An Arcane State" The Entropy toured relentlessly, receiving critical acclaim from the both the industry, and their growing fan base alike.

In 2007 they headed back to the studio to record a new EP. Fuelled by a need to prove their music deserved a chance "The LA Sessions" were recorded in Los Angeles CA, and released in Canada in October 2007. The tracks "One Left" and "Digging Up Your Bones" were featured in various podcasts, television shows, and were instant fan favourites; as a result the boys once again hit the road.

"The band strikes a perfect balance onstage, not only with the vocal harmonies between Hutchinson and Boyer, but in combining all of the band's musical dimensions. The duelling guitars, punchy rolling bass lines, powerful drumming, and the occasional growling scream all blend seamlessly together"
The Alliston Herald

In mid 2008 they took time off to write, and in September 2009 The Entropy began pre-production on a new batch of songs that are collectively the most solid effort by the foursome to date.

In late 2009 they began their recording session at DNA Recording Facilities in Toronto, Ontario.

"This EP is by far the best work that we have done to date. Steve and Jason were amazing to work with throughout the recording of these songs. Without the hard work and chemistry of both the Studio and the band, the new EP would not have turned out to be what it is today."
Jayson Yuricek

... and on May 1st, 2010, performing to a sold out crowd, released their brand new EP entitled "Cities Will Fall".

"It sounds like a knife fight battle between Nirvana homage and Tool power with winner to be determined"

how much you want to bet?

Considering two weeks notice and everything else, it went actually quite well.

Including artists and all, over 50 people.

Was actually a pretty fun night.

Except that Norman (one of our pets died)...

50 people for them or the whole night? because I was talking to the band tonight, right before they hit the stage at Jack's... and they said there were no more than 25 maybe 30 people there... then they hit the stage at Jack's..with less than 24 hours notice..and almost 100 (or more) paid people, not including other bands and staff... Just sayin'

although do have to say I am an avid pet lover, and sorry for your loss. It's never easy.

just sayin what? that a friday turned out better then a thursday? ok, sure, no problems. Anyone surprised about that? nope.. just sayin...

what are you trying to say, that it was promoted better at Jacks? I don't know, I didn t see any posters, or any posts, or anything else, heck, as a matter of fact, in no advertising was the entropy mentioned anywhere.

so, was it really 'their' draw. maybe. maybe not, I don t know. Just doesn t really matter. I m happy they got a good pull tonite. Jacks was very busy. I m happy for Maggs and Renee and the gang.

oh, and ya, to answer your question, nope, there wasn t 50 people there for their set, but for the locals there was. I'm sorry that the locals out drew them. WTF do you want me to do about it?

ya, I know, I had a big part in bringing them here for their practices.. and honestly, i m happy that Jacks picked it up, cause everything kept changing, from a this to a that to a this and that, and I was scrambling for answers to questions I didn't know were even part of the picture.

So, thanks to Jacks for saving the day, and I m happy they got a good crowd tonite too.
