BIO:You’re quite nostalgic about the great hard rock era? You kind of miss the sweaty hot torso men with long hair on stage? You dream about a 2011 Quebec band that could revisit the past and rethink the master of the genre made popular by AC/DC, Judas Priest and Mötorhead? Wait no more and meet Dance Laury Dance, a metal band with leather pants, tattoos and a strong love for the party. Their first full-length album,
Living For The Roll, will be coming out on July 12th via Abuzive Muzik and it’s about to change the local and international music scene!
This sweet album offers 11 flaring songs perfect to have a blast: exhilarating guitar riffs juxtaposed to rousing, thrilling even, rhythms. Impressed by Dance Laury Dance’s talent and drive, renowned Quebec guitarist
Steve Hill lent a hand to the group, only adding more fuel to the already frenetic
Living For The Roll. The first single titled
Burning Hot guarantees that this summer will be everything but chilly!
Indeed, the band will soon hit the road, making stops at the Festival d’été de Québec on July 16th, opening for
Metallica, famous thrash metal pioneers. In true rock’n roll fashion, Dance Laury Dance will also appear in season six of the
Gene Simmons Family Jewels reality show, airing this summer on A&E.
ABOUT DANCE LAURY DANCE:Since its birth back in 2007 in Quebec City, Dance Laury Dance follows one simple goal: to keep rock’n roll’s pure tradition alive with a unique and distinctive sound. Formed by the talents of Alexandre “Lap” Laperrière (drums), Max Lemire (vocals), Etienne “Blake” Villeneuve (guitar), Sébastien “Harry” Deschênes (bass) and Patrick “Dagger” Cyr (guitar), the band delivered an 8-song EP, Out With Rockers, in 2009, produced independently and mixed by Ryan Battistuzzi (Malajube, The Sainte Cath- erines, We Are Wolves).
In concert, Dance Laury Dance’s music truly comes alive, with electrifying solos and tons of energy to spare! In fact, the group was rewarded last year by the Festival d’été de Québec, winning the prize for
Best Concert by an Up-And-Coming Canadian Artist. With two Canadian tours and more than 200 shows under their belt, including an opening set for
Pennywise in front of 5000 people, a remarkable visit to Los Angeles’ mythical Viper Room, and a trip to Texas for this year’s SXSW, Dance Laury Dance is undoubtedly one of the bands to watch closely in Quebec.
