Just an important heads up news flash... Definitely Superior Art Gallery will be hosting on Tuesday October 18 at 7pm -9pm an Ontario Arts Council Music Information Session. So,  for all the musicians taking part in The Hunger V.666 and all musicians, bands/singer-songwriters/sound recording producers in Thunder Bay and the region of Northwest ON, you should attend this! A representative from the OAC  Popular & World Music and Arts Service as well as The Ontario Arts Council Northern Arts Grant will be on hand to offer information as well as potential opportunities. Thunder Bay, has amazing talent, your valued participation in the arts and culture in Thunder Bay, is being noticed and acknowledged...it's time! Information Session about Ontario Arts Council funding programs for musicians, bands, singers, songwriters,music sound recording producers as well as any interested artists or arts professionals.

Please join Michael Murray, Popular & World Music and Arts Service Organizations Officer and Marilyn McIntosh, Northwestern Consultant for The Northern Arts Grant, if you have funding questions about:

• Your artistic practice or the practice of the artists you support
• How you, your collective or organization are eligible for OAC grants
• The application process (deadlines, etc.)
• How grant decisions are made and how juries are selected
• How to select and prepare support material
• Drafting clear, concise grant applications
• BudgetingPlease bring your questions, project ideas or proposals.

ONTARIO ARTS COUNCIL-INFORMATION SESSION-FUNDING FOR MUSICIANS/BANDS/SINGER/SONGWRITERS/SOUND RECORDING-TUESDAY OCT.18@7-9PM

Hope all musicians, representatives of bands and sound recording people come out tomorrow night Tuesday Oct. 18 for the Ontario Arts Council info session. Musicians in the city have now two avenues/opportunities for funding, one is through the OAC Music Program specifically and the other is through the Northern Arts Grant, this grant is only for musicians/artists living in Northwestern Ontario and you can apply at least twice a year. Grants for Musicians and artists are either creation or production grants. A creation grant is funding that will cover your living expenses while you create a new body of work, and production is the actual recording and CD production of your final product. Up to $15,000.00 is the max I believe, but of course varies with the project or the application. You want to know more, this is what the info session is for, don't pass it up, you never know. More musicians from Thunder Bay than ever before have received grants and it is growing, take a chance! Hope to see you here.
