Tis true.  Here is an excerpt of the story as retold in Rolling Stone magazine: "After hearing the music of IGBC for the first time (before the name IGBC even existed), Jesus Christ was over heard asking his mother: "is god being cruel?".  Needless to say the words of the lords son greatly impressed the band and they devised a simple yet clever way of using his prophetic words to name their spacial no wave synthesized rock band."
